swPTPp2pTransparentPortPDelayReqInterval

Module: PTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): PTP-MIB::swPTPp2pTransparentPortPDelayReqInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.94.1.2.3.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This indicates the permitted mean time interval between successive pdelay request messages.

In line with the IEEE1588 protocol, the value of the pdelay req interval shall be represented as the logarithm to base 2 of this time measured in seconds. The range is 1-32, so the import value must be either 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32. If the input is not allowed, then the input will be automatically adjusted to allow the biggest and closest value.

What is swPTPp2pTransparentPortPDelayReqInterval?

A read-write value (1-32, auto-rounded to the nearest allowed power-of-two) setting the mean interval, as log2 seconds per IEEE 1588, between peer-delay request messages sent on this p2p-transparent clock port. Admins tune this to balance how quickly the transparent clock's peer-delay measurement updates against the extra PTP traffic it generates on the link.
