swPTPTransparentClockIdentity
Module: PTP-MIB
OID (symbolic): PTP-MIB::swPTPTransparentClockIdentity
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.94.1.4.2.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: OCTET STRING
Access: read-only
Description: This indicates the PTP clock identity.
8-octet array, The first 3 octets of the MAC address are assigned in order to the first 3 octets of the clockIdentity. Octets with index 3 and 4 are respectively assigned hex values FF and FE. The remaining 3 octets of the MAC address are assigned in order to the last 3 octets of the clockIdentity.
What is swPTPTransparentClockIdentity?
A read-only 8-octet clock identity for this unit's PTP transparent clock, built from a port's MAC address with FF-FE inserted in the middle per IEEE 1588. Admins use this to uniquely recognize this switch's transparent clock when tracing PTP message paths through the network.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.94.1.4.2.1.2 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PTP-MIB::swPTPTransparentClockIdentity
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.94.1.4.2.1.2.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PTP-MIB::swPTPTransparentClockIdentity.1
