swPTPBoundaryPortPDelayReqInterval

Module: PTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): PTP-MIB::swPTPBoundaryPortPDelayReqInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.94.1.2.2.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This indicates the permitted mean time interval between successive pdelay request messages.

In line with the IEEE1588 protocol, the value of pdelay req interval shall be represented as the logarithm to base 2 of this time measured in seconds. The range is 1-32, so the import value must be either 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32. If the input is not allowed, then the input will be automatically adjusted to allow for the bigger and closest value.

What is swPTPBoundaryPortPDelayReqInterval?

A read-write value (1-32, auto-rounded to the nearest allowed power-of-two) setting the mean interval, as log2 seconds per IEEE 1588, between peer-delay request messages sent on this boundary-clock port. Admins tune this when using the peer-to-peer delay mechanism to balance measurement responsiveness against extra PTP traffic on the link.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.94.1.2.2.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PTP-MIB::swPTPBoundaryPortPDelayReqInterval

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.94.1.2.2.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PTP-MIB::swPTPBoundaryPortPDelayReqInterval.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.94.1.2.2.1.5.1 i <value>
