swPTPBoundaryPortDelayReqInterval
Module: PTP-MIB
OID (symbolic): PTP-MIB::swPTPBoundaryPortDelayReqInterval
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.94.1.2.2.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This indicates the permitted mean time interval between successive delay request messages which are sent by a slave to a specific port on the master.
In line with the IEEE1588 protocol, the value of delay req interval shall be an exponent of 2. In addition, this interval shall be an integer with the minimum value being sync interval, and the maximum value being 32 times the sync interval value. The actual range of the allowed exponent of the interval delay request is [logSyncInterval+0, logSyncInterval+5]. If the sync interval is half a second and the delay req interval is 0, then the permitted time interval between successive delay request messages will be automatically adjusted to one second.
What is swPTPBoundaryPortDelayReqInterval?
A read-write integer (0-5) setting, as an offset from the Sync interval's log2 exponent, how often a slave on this boundary-clock port sends delay-request messages to the master; the effective interval must fall between the sync interval and 32 times it, and out-of-range inputs get auto-adjusted (e.g. 0 with a half-second sync interval becomes one second). Admins tune this to balance path-delay measurement accuracy against the extra delay-request traffic it generates.
