This counter tracks the number of bytes (octets) forwarded by the ingress service queue that exceeded the Committed Information Rate (CIR) and were marked as out-of-profile by the traffic shaper on a service access point. Out-of-profile traffic may be subject to lower priority handling, marking, or selective dropping depending on the configured policy. Service providers use this metric to monitor traffic that exceeds contracted rate limits and make billing or traffic management decisions.
