Description: The sapStatusChanged notification is generated when there is a change in the administrative or operating status of an SAP.

What is prvtSapStatusChanged?

This notification is generated whenever a Service Access Point (SAP) changes its administrative or operational status, alerting management systems to any transitions in SAP availability or configuration. Network operators use this trap to track service health and troubleshoot connectivity issues, as SAPs represent customer-facing connection points in multiservice networks. The notification includes details about the service, SAP identifiers, and the new status values.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' PRVT-SERV-MIB::prvtSapStatusChanged
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.738.1.7.2.2.3.0.3

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:
