Description: The contribution of this port to the path cost of paths toward the spanning tree root that include this port. 802.1D-1990 recommends that the default value of this parameter be in inverse proportion to the speed of the attached LAN.
What is mSTPortPerMstPathCost?
This read-write INTEGER (1-200000000) sets a port's contribution to the total path cost toward the root for one specific MST instance; 802.1D recommends the default be set in inverse proportion to the port's link speed, so an admin might raise it to steer traffic away from a slower or less-preferred link.
