ipPolicyRuleStatus

Module: POLICY-MIB

OID (symbolic): POLICY-MIB::ipPolicyRuleStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.81.36.2.1.19

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RowStatus

Access: read-write

Description: Used to configure and monitor one rule. Use CreateAndWait (4) to create a rule. Destroy (6) to destroy a rule active (1) is returned when a rule is complete and is configured into device HW NotReady (3) is returned when not all mandatory fields in the rule have been configured or the rule is not valid. Not In Service (2) is returned when the rule is not active because the list is not active or device lacks resources to support the rule

What is ipPolicyRuleStatus?

This is the RowStatus used to create (createAndWait) or remove (destroy) a rule; it reads back as active once the rule is fully configured and installed in hardware, notReady if mandatory fields are still missing, or notInService if the parent list isn't active or the device lacks resources for the rule. An admin watches for it to reach active, rather than notReady, to confirm a new rule actually took effect.
