Module: OSPF-TRAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): OSPF-TRAP-MIB::ospfVirtIfTxRetransmit

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.14.16.2.11

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

An ospfVirtIfTxRetransmit trap signifies than an OSPF packet has been retransmitted on a virtual interface. All packets that may be retransmitted are associated with an LSDB entry. The LS type, LS ID, and Router ID are used to identify the LSDB entry.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' OSPF-TRAP-MIB::ospfVirtIfTxRetransmit
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.2.1.14.16.2.11

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:50389->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (146922197) 17 days, 0:07:01.97
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: OSPF-TRAP-MIB::ospfVirtIfTxRetransmit
