Module: Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-VirtualMediaMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-VirtualMediaMIB::mscVmIfOperationalState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.133.2.14.1.2

Description: This attribute indicates the OSI Operational State of the component.

The value enabled indicates that the component is available for operation. Note that if adminState is locked, it would still not be providing service.

The value disabled indicates that the component is not available for operation. For example, something is wrong with the component itself, or with another component on which this one depends. If the value is disabled, the usageState must be idle.

What is mscVmIfOperationalState?

This read-only value reports the OSI Operational State of a VirtualMedia interface component: enabled(1) if the component is available for operation, or disabled(0) if something is wrong with it or a dependent component, in which case usageState must be idle. Admins check it to distinguish a genuine hardware or dependency fault from an administratively locked interface. For example, seeing mscVmIfOperationalState as disabled(0) while mscVmIfAdminState shows unlocked(1) would point to an underlying fault rather than an intentional lockout.
