mscApsMode

Module: Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-ApsMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-ApsMIB::mscApsMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.134.11.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This attribute specifies the protection mode to use. It has possible values of unidirectional and bidirectional.

The unidirectional mode allows the Aps to decide independently of the far end which channel, either working or protection, will be active for receive.

The bidirectional mode instructs the Aps to decide jointly with the far end which channel, either working or protection, will be active for receive.

Note that while an Aps Test is being run the Aps will operate in unidirectional mode, regardless of the actual provisioned mode.

What is mscApsMode?

This read-write value sets whether APS operates unidirectional(4) (this end decides independently which line is active) or bidirectional(5) (both ends jointly decide); it defaults to unidirectional. Note that while an APS test is running, the system always behaves as unidirectional regardless of this setting.
