dcmeProfileIngressAudioGain

Module: Nortel-Magellan-Passport-DcmeMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-Magellan-Passport-DcmeMIB::dcmeProfileIngressAudioGain

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.129.2.11.1.14

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This attribute specifies the gain in dB that is applied to data coming from outside the network before it is transferred across the network. It applies to voice, modem and fax traffic. For example, ingress gain is applied to audio data coming from a PBX. If ingressAudioGain is negative, a loss is applied.

ingressAudioGain and egressAudioGain are used in loss planning, which is the configuration of the devices in a network to ensure that the signal level from any point in the network to any other point is correct.

What is dcmeProfileIngressAudioGain?

Specifies the gain, -12 to 12 dB, applied under this profile to audio entering the network from outside (e.g., from a connected PBX), with negative values applying a loss; it's used together with dcmeProfileEgressAudioGain for loss planning to keep signal levels correct end to end. Admins adjust this when audio arriving at the network is consistently too loud or too quiet compared to the target signal level.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.129.2.11.1.14
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Nortel-Magellan-Passport-DcmeMIB::dcmeProfileIngressAudioGain

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.129.2.11.1.14.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Nortel-Magellan-Passport-DcmeMIB::dcmeProfileIngressAudioGain.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.129.2.11.1.14.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> dcmeProfileIngressAudioGain.1
