aal1CesCellDelayVariationTolerance

Module: Nortel-Magellan-Passport-CircuitEmulationServiceMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-Magellan-Passport-CircuitEmulationServiceMIB::aal1CesCellDelayVariationTolerance

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.119.11.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: This attribute defines the maximum cell arrival jitter (in milliseconds) that the AAL1 reassembly process will tolerate in the ATM cell stream without producing errors on the service interface.

This attribute may be set to a small value if the CES connection will produce minimal CDV and a large value if the connection will produce a large CDV.

This attribute, together with the attribute bufferSize, can be configured to optimize the jitter versus absolute delay trade-off in various network configurations.

What is aal1CesCellDelayVariationTolerance?

The maximum cell arrival jitter, in milliseconds, that the AAL1 reassembly process tolerates before flagging errors on the service interface; set it low for a well-behaved ATM path or higher if the connection is known to produce significant jitter. Defaults to 1 ms.
