configCommit
Module: NOKIAVPN-CONFIG-MIB
OID (symbolic): NOKIAVPN-CONFIG-MIB::configCommit
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.94.1.41.2.3.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: When an SNMP management station sets (changes) a configuration parameter via an SNMP set operation, the SNMP agent code will set a dirty bit. The management station can then submit a set operation on this configCommit variable to write the configuration to flash, thereby committing the change. Performing a read on this variable will return the value of the config dirty bit.
What is configCommit?
This read-write enumerated value is used to commit pending SNMP-set configuration changes to persistent flash storage on the device. Admins write yes(1) to this object after making configuration changes to make them durable across reboots, and reading it back simply reflects the current state of the configuration dirty bit rather than a separate commit status. For example, after adjusting several threshold values via SNMP, an admin would set configCommit to yes(1) to save those changes to flash before the device might restart.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.94.1.41.2.3.2 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NOKIAVPN-CONFIG-MIB::configCommit
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.94.1.41.2.3.2.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NOKIAVPN-CONFIG-MIB::configCommit.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.94.1.41.2.3.2.1 i <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> configCommit.1
