What is hardwarehifnloadave?
This value reports, as a percentage, the load average of the device's Hifn chip, a dedicated hardware encryption and compression co-processor used for IPsec acceleration. Admins monitor it on VPN gateways to see whether the crypto accelerator is saturated, which would explain slow IPsec throughput even when the main CPU looks idle. For example, a reading of 95 while running many concurrent VPN tunnels would tell an admin the Hifn accelerator, not the CPU, is the throughput bottleneck.
