Module: NETSCREEN-TRAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): NETSCREEN-TRAP-MIB::netscreenTrapGPRO

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3224.0.700

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap indicates that some kind of Global PRO problems has occurred.

What is netscreenTrapGPRO?

This OID represents an alert notification that fires when the Netscreen firewall detects a problem in its Global PRO (packet protocol optimization) subsystem. When this trap occurs, it signals that encryption, compression, or other optimizations are not working correctly. A security operator would investigate this alert if users report slow encrypted connections or if backup/redundancy systems fail.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' NETSCREEN-TRAP-MIB::netscreenTrapGPRO
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.3224.0.700

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:62733->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (300314893) 34 days, 18:12:28.93
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: NETSCREEN-TRAP-MIB::netscreenTrapGPRO
