totalPowerConsumption

Module: NETONIX-SWITCH-MIB

OID (symbolic): NETONIX-SWITCH-MIB::totalPowerConsumption

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.46242.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: PowerTC

Access: read-only

Description: Total power being consumed by the switch, in Watts

What is totalPowerConsumption?

This read-only value reports the total electrical power the Netonix switch itself is drawing, expressed in watts via the PowerTC convention with one decimal place of precision. Admins poll it to track overall power draw for capacity planning of PoE budgets or UPS sizing, since consumption rises as more PoE ports are activated. For example, a switch idling at 15.2W might climb to 87.5W once several PoE-powered access points are plugged in and drawing current.
