nbsOpticPortTxStatusAdmin
Module: NBS-OPTIC-MIB
OID (symbolic): NBS-OPTIC-MIB::nbsOpticPortTxStatusAdmin
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.629.213.1.2.1.21
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Persistent. This object is used to administratively disable or enable the Transmitter of this port. It is an alias to the nbsCmmcPortEnableAdmin object.
If the transmitter cannot be disabled by user, this object is notSupported(1).
If the user wishes to disable this transmitter, the user should set this to outOfService(2). This is equivalent to setting nbsCmmcPortEnableAdmin to disable(2). This action should cause the mib2 object ifAdminStatus to go down(2).
If the user wishes to enable this transmitter, the user should set this to inService(3). If nothing else remains disabled, this should return the mib2 object ifAdminStatus to up(1).
What is nbsOpticPortTxStatusAdmin?
This read-write INTEGER administratively enables or disables the transmitter on a fiber optic port, aliased to nbsCmmcPortEnableAdmin, with notSupported(1) when the transmitter cannot be independently controlled, outOfService(2) to disable it, and inService(3) to enable it. Setting this to outOfService(2) also drives the standard MIB-II ifAdminStatus for the interface down, while inService(3) can bring it back up if nothing else is disabling the port. For example, an admin sets this to outOfService(2) to safely power down a transmitter before performing fiber maintenance.
