What is nbsCmmcTrapPortCrcError?
This SNMP notification is sent when a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error occurs on a port, indicating data corruption on the physical link. The trap has warning-level severity and alerts operators to potential physical layer problems. An operator would respond to this trap by checking the physical connection, testing the cable, and possibly replacing faulty hardware.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' NBS-CMMC-MIB::nbsCmmcTrapPortCrcError snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.629.200.13.0.38
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
