alertMcastEnable

Module: NAT

OID (symbolic): NAT::alertMcastEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.86.2.6.2.3.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

What is alertMcastEnable?

This MIB has no DESCRIPTION anywhere, so this reading is inferred from the off(0)/on(1) enumeration and read-write access. Setting it to on(1) turns on multicast-rate alerting, so the device will flag when multicast traffic exceeds alertMcastThreshold. An admin enables this on networks running multicast applications to catch runaway multicast traffic early.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.86.2.6.2.3.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NAT::alertMcastEnable

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.86.2.6.2.3.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NAT::alertMcastEnable.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.86.2.6.2.3.1.1 i <value>
