Module: MULTIBRIDGE-MIB

OID (symbolic): MULTIBRIDGE-MIB::mBrdgStpBridgeMaxAge

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.123.3.43.2.1.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Timeout

Access: read-write

Description: The value that all bridges use for MaxAge when this bridge is acting as the root. Note that 802.1D-1990 specifies that the range for this parameter is related to the value of mBrdgStpBridgeHelloTime. The granularity of this timer is specified by 802.1D-1990 to be 1 second. An agent may return a badValue error if a set is attempted to a value which is not a whole number of seconds.

What is mBrdgStpBridgeMaxAge?

This read-write setting configures the MaxAge value that all bridges in the spanning tree would adopt if this bridge entity becomes root, in hundredths of a second (600-4000, i.e. 6-40 seconds), and must be a whole number of seconds. An admin tunes this together with mBrdgStpBridgeHelloTime when preparing a bridge to potentially serve as the network's STP root.
