What is irTimeStamp?

This object carries a text-formatted timestamp attached to an MRV device's SNMP trap, recording when the underlying event took place, sent as a string rather than a native SNMP time type. Administrators use it to know exactly when the reported event, such as a login or configuration change, actually occurred, especially useful if the trap arrives at the management station with some delay. For example, this object might contain a string like '2026-08-24 03:12:07' marking the moment the triggering event happened on the device.
