mplsCemVcEnableDBA

Module: MPLS-CEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): MPLS-CEM-MIB::mplsCemVcEnableDBA

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.3.9999.1.2.1.21

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-create

Description: Any bits set here MUST enable the DBA (dynamic bandwidth allocation) feature for the specified condition. Setting allOnesOnAis will cause CEM packet payload suppression when AIS is detected on the associated SONET path. Similarly, allZerosOnUnequipped will cause payload suppression when the SONET path is un-equipped. During these conditions, CEM packets will continue to be sent, but with indicators set in the CEM header instructing the remote to play all ones or zeros onto its SONET path. Note: some implementations may not support this feature.

What is mplsCemVcEnableDBA?

A bitmask enabling dynamic bandwidth allocation behaviors: allOnesOnAis suppresses CEM payload and signals the remote end to play all-ones when AIS is detected on the SONET path, and allZerosOnUnequipped does the same (playing all-zeros) when the SONET path is unequipped -- letting idle or alarmed circuits free up bandwidth instead of carrying dummy payload.
