deviceControlAllowDriverControl

Module: MOXA-NP6000-MIB

OID (symbolic): MOXA-NP6000-MIB::deviceControlAllowDriverControl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.8691.2.8.1.4.1.2.1.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: If Max connection is greater than 1, NPort will ignore driver control commands from all connected hosts. However, if you set Allow driver control to YES, control commands will be accepted. Note that since the NPort 6000 series device server may get configuration changes from multiple hosts, the most recent command received will take precedence.

What is deviceControlAllowDriverControl?

When deviceControlMaxConnection is greater than 1, setting this to yes(1) lets any connected host's Real COM driver push serial-port configuration changes such as baud rate, with the most recently received command winning; no(0) blocks all such control commands. An admin enables it only when multiple hosts genuinely need to reconfigure the port, since concurrent changes from different hosts can conflict.
