faUdpTunnelKeepaliveInterval

Module: MIP-UDPTUNNEL-MIB

OID (symbolic): MIP-UDPTUNNEL-MIB::faUdpTunnelKeepaliveInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.44.4.1.3.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: Defines the default NAT keepalive interval that the foreign agent will use in the case that the HA does not impose another value by setting the Keepalive Interval in the UDP Tunnel Reply Extension.

What is faUdpTunnelKeepaliveInterval?

This value, in seconds, sets the default NAT keepalive interval the Foreign Agent uses on behalf of registered mobile nodes' UDP tunnels, unless the home agent imposes a different value. Admins shorten it for NAT devices with aggressive, short UDP mapping timeouts, or leave it at the RFC-recommended default for typical NAT behavior. The default 110 seconds matches the RFC-recommended keepalive cadence; setting it to 30 would send keepalives more frequently for a NAT known to time out mappings quickly.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.44.4.1.3.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> MIP-UDPTUNNEL-MIB::faUdpTunnelKeepaliveInterval

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.44.4.1.3.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> MIP-UDPTUNNEL-MIB::faUdpTunnelKeepaliveInterval.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.44.4.1.3.3.1 i <value>
