gpsHP5071AOperNibble0Status

Module: MERIDIAN2-MIB

OID (symbolic): MERIDIAN2-MIB::gpsHP5071AOperNibble0Status

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.13827.14.2.75

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-only

Description: This is a bit string contained in one character representing the least significant nibble of the optional HP5071A Cesium Operation status word. Unfortunately, SNMP numbers the bits in the reverse order, so that the enumerated values are backwards from the description contained in the HP5071A User's Manual for the Operation status register. Each bit indicates a state when set.

NOTE: If no bits are set in this OID and the gpsHP5071AOperNibble2Status and gpsHP5071AOperNibble3Status OIDs, that is an indication of an RS-232 communications fault with the HP5071A.

Currently defined states encoded in this value:

Bit 3: HP5071A is in Calibrating State. Bit 2: Not Used. Bit 1: Not Used. Bit 0: Not Used.

What is gpsHP5071AOperNibble0Status?

A BITS value giving the least-significant nibble of the optional HP5071A cesium oscillator's Operation status word, with only a single defined bit indicating the unit is currently Calibrating. The DESCRIPTION notes that if no bits are set across this nibble and its siblings (Nibble2, Nibble3), that pattern itself indicates an RS-232 communications fault between the Meridian II and the HP5071A rather than a clean idle state.
