What Is LJ3000-MIB?
This is the HP LaserJet 3000 series printer SNMP MIB (based on HP's PML/PJL printer management framework), providing device configuration, consumable status, and print job management objects. It exposes categories including control panel state and display contents, self-test and diagnostic results, localization settings, power/energy-saving mode status, and job accounting logs including color usage. It is directly geared toward monitoring hardware/software status such as sleep/energy-star power state, self-test outcomes, control panel button and display activity, and job accounting counters, giving administrators visibility into both the printer's operational health and its usage patterns. It builds on HP's proprietary PML (Printer Management Language) management framework layered under standard Printer MIB conventions. It is deployed in office environments using the HP LaserJet 3000 series printer for shared network printing. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the LJ3000-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples
An admin would poll energy-star and sleep-mode objects to confirm the printer's current power state and verify energy-saving settings are being honored, while self-test would be checked after running print-internal-page diagnostics to confirm engine health. The job-info-accounting-color-usage-log object would be polled to track color page usage for cost accounting, and control-panel-display-contents-change-counter would indicate how actively the device is being used or reconfigured at the panel. Unexpected self-test failures combined with rising job accounting counts could indicate the printer needs servicing despite continued heavy use.
