lcProvisioningControl

Module: LANCITY-MCNS-MIB

OID (symbolic): LANCITY-MCNS-MIB::lcProvisioningControl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.482.60.5.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Controls the use of file-based provisioning by the CMTS. If set to: use-dhcp-and-tftp(1) the CMTS will use DHCP to find its IP address, subnet mask, default router, and TFTP server. Configuration parameters will be provisioned from a TFTP'ed parameter file, use-dhcp (2) DHCP will be used to find the IP address, subnet mask, and defaultrouter, but all other parameters will come from NVRAM, use-tftp (3) The CMTS will use NVRAM for its IP address, but other configured parameters will be loaded via TFTP, use-nvram (4) All operational parameters are taken from nonvolatile RAM.

What is lcProvisioningControl?

Read-write mode selector controlling how the CMTS bootstraps its own configuration: use-dhcp-and-tftp(1) (DHCP for IP/mask/router/TFTP-server, then a TFTP-fetched parameter file), use-dhcp(2) (DHCP for IP info only, rest from NVRAM), use-tftp(3) (NVRAM IP, TFTP for the rest), or use-nvram(4) (everything from nonvolatile RAM); an operator picks this based on whether the site relies on DHCP/TFTP infrastructure or a fully static local configuration.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> LANCITY-MCNS-MIB::lcProvisioningControl

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.482.60.5.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> LANCITY-MCNS-MIB::lcProvisioningControl.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.482.60.5.1.1.1 i <value>
