juniSlepIfLowerIfIndex

Module: Juniper-SLEP-MIB

OID (symbolic): Juniper-SLEP-MIB::juniSlepIfLowerIfIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4874.2.2.15.1.1.2.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InterfaceIndexOrZero

Access: read-create

Description: The ifIndex of an interface over which this SLEP interface is to be layered. A value of zero indicates no layering. An implementation may choose to require that a nonzero value be configured at entry creation.

What is juniSlepIfLowerIfIndex?

This read-create value specifies the ifIndex of the underlying physical or logical interface that this SLEP interface is layered on top of. An admin must set this to a valid, layering-capable interface when creating a new SLEP interface, since SLEP runs as a service on top of that lower-layer link; a value of zero means no layering is configured. For example, setting juniSlepIfLowerIfIndex to the ifIndex of a Gigabit Ethernet interface, say 42, layers the new SLEP interface directly on top of that Ethernet link.
