jnxStormCtlAction

Module: JUNIPER-SECURE-ACCESS-PORT-MIB

OID (symbolic): JUNIPER-SECURE-ACCESS-PORT-MIB::jnxStormCtlAction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.40.1.2.1.1.3.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This object specifies the action to be taken, when traffic exceeds rising threshold value. Value 1 specifies that the action taken is to shutdown the port. Value 2 specifies that the action taken is to apply a policy filter on the interface for the given packet type. Default is to shutdown(1) the port.

What is jnxStormCtlAction?

This read-only value specifies which action the switch takes when traffic exceeds the rising threshold: shutdown(1) to disable the port, or filter(2) to apply a policy filter for the offending packet type, defaulting to shutdown. An admin checks it to know whether a storm event on that interface will take the port completely offline or merely filter the excess traffic while keeping the port up. For example, an admin who prefers to keep a critical uplink port up during a storm event would expect this to be configured to filter(2) rather than left at the default shutdown(1).
