Module: JUNIPER-MIMSTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): JUNIPER-MIMSTP-MIB::jnxMIMstCistPortLoopProtectStateChangeTrap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.46.1.3.0.10

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: Generated when the ports Loop-protect state (no-error or loop-prevented) for CIST changes.

What is jnxMIMstCistPortLoopProtectStateChangeTrap?

This notification event is generated when a port's loop protection state changes between error-free and loop-prevented status for the Common and Internal Spanning Tree (CIST). Network operators subscribe to this trap to be alerted when spanning tree loop detection mechanisms activate or deactivate. Loop protection is critical for preventing traffic loops in redundant network topologies.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' JUNIPER-MIMSTP-MIB::jnxMIMstCistPortLoopProtectStateChangeTrap
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.46.1.3.0.10

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
