Description: A Boolean value set by management indicating whether Loop protect functionality is enabled on the port. If TRUE causes the Port not to be selected as Designated Port when the received superior BPDU is aged out. This parameter should be FALSE by default.

What is jnxDot1dStpPortLoopProtectEnabled?

This object indicates whether Loop Protect is enabled on this STP port, a feature that prevents the port from becoming a Designated Port when a previously received superior BPDU ages out. Admins enable this to guard against network loops that can form when a link stops receiving BPDUs due to unidirectional link failure. For example, enabling Loop Protect on a port connected to another switch via fiber protects against a loop forming if one direction of that fiber link silently fails.
