Module: JUNIPER-EX-MAC-NOTIFICATION-MIB
OID (symbolic): JUNIPER-EX-MAC-NOTIFICATION-MIB::jnxMacGlobalFeatureEnabled
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.40.1.7.1.1.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-only
Description: Indicates whether the MAC notification feature is currently running in the device.
Setting this object to false(2) disables the MAC notification feature globally.
Setting this object to true(1) will start the MAC notification feature running in the device. If the feature is already running, setting to true(1) has no effect.
What is jnxMacGlobalFeatureEnabled?
This indicates whether the MAC notification feature, which reports MAC addresses learned or removed from the forwarding database, is currently running on the device. Per the description, writing true(1) starts the feature with no effect if it's already running, and false(2) disables it globally, so admins toggle this to turn MAC-change monitoring on or off device-wide. An admin sets jnxMacGlobalFeatureEnabled to true(1) to begin tracking MAC learn and remove events for security auditing on an EX-series switch.
