Description: Total number of packets belonging to the specified forwarding class dropped due to RED (Random Early Detection) at the output on the given interface.
What is jnxCosIfqTotalRedDropPkts?
Running total of packets discarded from the output queue for one forwarding class on a given interface, in the deprecated jnxCosIfqStatsTable (superseded by jnxCosQstatTable) by RED (Random Early Detection), which drops packets probabilistically as the queue fills, ahead of a hard tail-drop cliff. Admins use it to see whether congestion avoidance is already engaging before the queue overflows outright.
