OID (symbolic): JAILS-MIB::jailProcesses

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.12325.1.1111.2.1.20

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Description: Number of processes running in this jail.

What is jailProcesses?

This read-only Integer32 reports the number of processes running in this jail, according to its source description. An admin monitors this to catch a jail that is spawning far more processes than expected, which can signal a runaway service, a fork bomb, or simply that the jail is under heavier load than normal. For example, jailProcesses jumping from 15 to over 500 in a short window would be a clear signal to investigate that jail's workload.
