spanningTree

Module: ISOVIEW-MIB

OID (symbolic): ISOVIEW-MIB::spanningTree

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.170.1.1.1.7.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

What is spanningTree?

A read-write INTEGER (0..1) toggle enabling or disabling the Spanning Tree Protocol on the station's bridge as a whole. The source MIB has no DESCRIPTION text for this or any other object, so this reading is inferred from the object's name, type, and position in the real MIB tree. An admin disables it only on a network topology guaranteed to be loop-free, since disabling STP removes the bridge's protection against forwarding loops.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.170.1.1.1.7.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ISOVIEW-MIB::spanningTree

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.170.1.1.1.7.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ISOVIEW-MIB::spanningTree.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.170.1.1.1.7.4.1 i <value>
