cacheCfgName

Module: ISC-CACHE

OID (symbolic): ISC-CACHE::cacheCfgName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1183.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-only

Description: The name of a DNS cache configuration instance.

What is cacheCfgName?

This object is simply the configured name of a DNS cache instance on an ISC BIND-based server. An admin uses it to tell apart multiple cache configurations running on the same name server, especially in setups with several views or cache policies. A resolver configured for internal clients might have its cache instance named 'internal-cache' to distinguish it from a separate 'external-cache' instance.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1183.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ISC-CACHE::cacheCfgName

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1183.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ISC-CACHE::cacheCfgName.1
