Module: INTERFACETOPN-MIB
OID (symbolic): INTERFACETOPN-MIB::interfaceTopNValue64
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.27.1.3.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: CounterBasedGauge64
Access: read-only
Description: The value at the end of the sampling interval, or the amount of change in the selected variable during this sampling interval for the identified interface. The selected variable is that interfaces's instance of the object selected by interfaceTopNObjectVariable. This value may be normalized if interfaceTopNNormalization required equals 'true'. This value of this object will be computed for all cases when interfaceTopNObjectVariable points to a 64-bit counter, and will be zero for all other cases.
What is interfaceTopNValue64?
This read-only CounterBasedGauge64 reports the value at the end of the sampling interval, or the amount of change during that interval, for the interface's instance of the variable selected by interfaceTopNObjectVariable, but only when that variable points to a 64-bit counter -- it reads zero for all other cases. Admins use this alongside interfaceTopNValue to get accurate ranked figures for high-capacity counters like ifHCInOctets that overflow a 32-bit gauge. For example, on a 10 Gbps interface being ranked by ifHCOutOctets, this object would carry the actual octet count since a 32-bit gauge would wrap too quickly to be useful.
