physicalMemoryDeviceTypeDetail

Module: INTEL-SERVER-BASEBOARD7

OID (symbolic): INTEL-SERVER-BASEBOARD7::physicalMemoryDeviceTypeDetail

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.2.10.3.5.500.20.1.16

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This attribute is bit encoded and specifies additional detail about the physical Memory Device. SMBIOS 2.3.4 specification defines that multiple bits can be set if more then one of the following attributes applies: bit 0 reserved, set to 0 bit 7 synchronous bit 1 other bit 8 CMOS bit 2 unknown bit 9 EDO bit 3 fast-paged bit 10 Window DRAM bit 4 static column bit 11 cache DRAM bit 5 pseudo-static bit 12 non-volatile bit 6 RAMBUS bits 13:15 reserves, set to 0

What is physicalMemoryDeviceTypeDetail?

A bit-encoded field where each set bit flags an additional memory characteristic -- e.g. bit 7 for synchronous, bit 9 for EDO, bit 12 for non-volatile -- with multiple bits settable at once per SMBIOS 2.3.4. It's a low-level hardware-diagnostic field; admins would typically decode individual bits only when troubleshooting compatibility with vendor documentation in hand rather than reading the raw integer at a glance.
