physicalMemoryDeviceSize

Module: INTEL-SERVER-BASEBOARD7

OID (symbolic): INTEL-SERVER-BASEBOARD7::physicalMemoryDeviceSize

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.2.10.3.5.500.20.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This attribute defines the size of the memory device in MB. If the value is 0, no memory device is installed in the socket. if the size is unknown, the field value is FFFFh. The granularity in which the value is specified depends on the setting of the most significant bit, bit 15. If the bit is 0, the value is specified in megabyte units; if the bit is 1, the value is specified in kilobyte units. For example, the value 8100h identifies a 256KM memory device and 0100h identifies a 256MB memory device.

What is physicalMemoryDeviceSize?

Reports the installed capacity of this memory module. Per SMBIOS convention, the high bit of the value selects the unit -- megabytes if clear, kilobytes if set -- so a value like 0100h means 256MB while 8100h means 256KB; a value of 0 means the slot is empty and FFFFh means the size is unknown. Admins sum this across all rows in physicalMemoryDeviceTable to compute total installed RAM.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.2.10.3.5.500.20.1.11
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> INTEL-SERVER-BASEBOARD7::physicalMemoryDeviceSize

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.2.10.3.5.500.20.1.11.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> INTEL-SERVER-BASEBOARD7::physicalMemoryDeviceSize.1
