confIgmpPruAllowAsQuerier

Module: INTEL-IGMP-PRUNING-MIB

OID (symbolic): INTEL-IGMP-PRUNING-MIB::confIgmpPruAllowAsQuerier

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.35.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The administrative status requested by management for allowing this device to participate in the IGMP querier/non-querier election. The value enabled(1) indicates that the device will participate in the IGMP querier/non-querier election scheme and thus may transmit IGMP queries, in all VLANs, on all ports for which IGMP pruning is also enabled. When disabled(2), the device will NOT participate in the IGMP querier/non-querier election scheme and will NOT transmit any IGMP queries, in all VLANs, on all ports.

What is confIgmpPruAllowAsQuerier?

This read-write value sets whether the device participates in the IGMP querier/non-querier election and may transmit IGMP queries, with enabled(1) allowing participation (only effective on ports/VLANs where IGMP pruning is also enabled) and disabled(2) preventing the device from ever sending IGMP queries. Admins typically disable this on switches that should defer querier duties to a dedicated multicast router, avoiding conflicting queriers on the same VLAN. For example, setting confIgmpPruAllowAsQuerier to disabled(2) on an access switch ensures the upstream multicast router remains the sole IGMP querier for that VLAN.
