mscsResourceIsAlivePollInterval

Module: INFORMANT-MSCS

OID (symbolic): INFORMANT-MSCS::mscsResourceIsAlivePollInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9600.1.31.11.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge32

Access: read-only

Description: The IsAlivePollInterval property provides the recommended interval in milliseconds at which the Cluster service should poll the resource to determine if it is operational. The polling occurs when the Resource Monitor calls the resource DLL's IsAlive entry point function.

If a resource does not set the IsAlivePollInterval property or sets it to - 1, the Cluster service uses the IsAlivePollInterval property for the resource type associated with the resource.

The data value for IsAlivePollInterval cannot be zero.

What is mscsResourceIsAlivePollInterval?

This read-only value, in milliseconds, reports how often the Cluster service polls a resource's IsAlive function to verify it's still fully operational; a resource left unset or set to -1 inherits its resource type's default interval, and 0 is not valid. An admin compares this against how quickly a resource is expected to be marked failed after it actually breaks, since a longer interval means slower failure detection.
