igmpInterfaceVersion

Module: IGMP-STD-MIB

OID (symbolic): IGMP-STD-MIB::igmpInterfaceVersion

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.85.1.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-create

Description: The version of IGMP which is running on this interface. This object can be used to configure a router capable of running either value. For IGMP to function correctly, all routers on a LAN must be configured to run the same version of IGMP on that LAN.

What is igmpInterfaceVersion?

A read-create integer setting which version of IGMP, 1, 2, or 3, is running on this interface, defaulting to version 2. All routers on the same LAN segment must run the same IGMP version for correct operation, so this lets an admin configure or verify version consistency across routers sharing a subnet. An admin deploying source-specific multicast would need to set this to 3 on all routers on that LAN, since IGMPv1 or v2 wouldn't support the source-filtering features required.
