igmpInterfaceQuerierPresentTimeout

Module: IGMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): IGMP-MIB::igmpInterfaceQuerierPresentTimeout

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.3.59.1.1.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-create

Description: A timeout interval. If no IGMPv2 queries are heard on this interface within this timeout interval, the local router will take over the Querier on the IP subnet to which this interface is attached. This object is now deprecated, since its value can be derived from igmpInterfaceRobustness.

What is igmpInterfaceQuerierPresentTimeout?

This read-create but deprecated value, in seconds, was a timeout after which the local router would take over as Querier if no IGMPv2 queries were heard on the interface, defaulting to 255. It's deprecated because its value can now be derived from igmpInterfaceRobustness, so an admin should generally rely on the robustness variable rather than configuring this timeout directly on modern implementations. For example, on an older device an admin might still see igmpInterfaceQuerierPresentTimeout reporting 255 seconds even though newer devices compute the equivalent behavior from igmpInterfaceRobustness instead.
