ifInvCapStackStatus

Module: IF-CAP-STACK-MIB

OID (symbolic): IF-CAP-STACK-MIB::ifInvCapStackStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.166.1.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-only

Description: The status of the possible 'cross-connect capability' relationship between two sub-layers.

An instance of this object exists for each instance of the ifCapStackStatus object, and vice versa. For example, if the variable ifCapStackStatus.H.L exists, then the variable ifInvCapStackStatus.L.H must also exist, and vice versa. In addition, the two variables always have the same value.

The ifInvCapStackStatus object is read-only, as it describes a cross-connect capability.

What is ifInvCapStackStatus?

This read-only TruthValue is the mirror-image entry of ifCapStackStatus: for every capability relationship recorded as ifCapStackStatus.H.L (higher layer H over lower layer L), this object records the same fact from the opposite indexing direction as ifInvCapStackStatus.L.H, and the two always carry the same value. An administrator or management application generally doesn't need to query both directions manually, since software walking the interface stack from either the higher or the lower interface's perspective can rely on finding the equivalent entry here. For example, if ifCapStackStatus for a bonding-group-over-DSL-line pairing reads true, the corresponding inverse entry for that same DSL-line-under-bonding-group pairing will also read true.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.166.1.2.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IF-CAP-STACK-MIB::ifInvCapStackStatus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.166.1.2.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IF-CAP-STACK-MIB::ifInvCapStackStatus.1
