What is dot3adAggLinkUpNotification?

This notification is sent when a Link Aggregation Group transitions from down to up status, provided that link-up notifications are enabled. The notification includes the identifier of the aggregator that changed state, allowing management systems to track high-availability link recovery. An operator uses this to monitor failover events and confirm that redundant link groups are coming online after maintenance or failure.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' IEEE8023-LAG-MIB::dot3adAggLinkUpNotification
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.2.840.10006.300.43.0.1

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:55540->[192.168.30.10]:162]:

  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: IEEE8023-LAG-MIB::dot3adAggLinkUpNotification
