ieee8021XPaePortInitialize

Module: IEEE8021X-PAE-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE8021X-PAE-MIB::ieee8021XPaePortInitialize

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.15.1.1.5.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: The initialization control for this Port. Setting this object 'true' causes the Port to be reinitialized, terminating (and potentially restarting) authentication exchanges and MKA operation.

If the port is a real port, any virtual ports previously instantiated are deleted. Virtual ports can be reinstantiated through normal protocol operation.

The object value reverts to 'false' once initialization has completed.

What is ieee8021XPaePortInitialize?

Setting this to true forces this port's PAE to reinitialize, tearing down and potentially restarting authentication and MKA, and deleting any virtual ports on a real port; the value automatically reverts to false once the reinit completes, so it behaves like a one-shot reset trigger rather than a persistent state.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.15.1.1.5.1.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021X-PAE-MIB::ieee8021XPaePortInitialize

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.15.1.1.5.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021X-PAE-MIB::ieee8021XPaePortInitialize.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.15.1.1.5.1.6.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> ieee8021XPaePortInitialize.1
