ieee8021SpanningTreePortPathCost
Module: IEEE8021-SPANNING-TREE-MIB
OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-SPANNING-TREE-MIB::ieee8021SpanningTreePortPathCost
OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.3.1.2.1.6
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: The contribution of this port to the path cost of paths towards the spanning tree root which include this port. Table 13-4 recommends defaults and ranges for Port Path Cost values, in inverse proportion to the speed of the attached LAN. If this object is used to set the Path Cost it is possible to restore the default setting using the ieee8021SpanningTreeRstpPortAdminPathCost object.
Table 13-4 recommends defaults and ranges for Port Path Cost values, in inverse proportion to the speed of the attached LAN. If this object is used to set the Path Cost it is possible to restore the default setting using the ieee8021MstpPortAdminPathCost object.
The value of this object MUST be retained across reinitializations of the management system.
What is ieee8021SpanningTreePortPathCost?
This port's contribution to the total path cost toward the root; lower values, typically set in inverse proportion to link speed, make STP prefer routing traffic through this port.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.3.1.2.1.6 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-SPANNING-TREE-MIB::ieee8021SpanningTreePortPathCost
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.3.1.2.1.6.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-SPANNING-TREE-MIB::ieee8021SpanningTreePortPathCost.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.3.1.2.1.6.1 i <value>
