ieee8021SpanningTreeForwardDelay

Module: IEEE8021-SPANNING-TREE-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-SPANNING-TREE-MIB::ieee8021SpanningTreeForwardDelay

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.3.1.1.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Timeout

Access: read-only

Description: This time value, measured in units of hundredths of a second, controls how fast a port changes its spanning state when moving towards the Forwarding state. The value determines how long the port stays in each of the Listening and Learning states, which precede the Forwarding state. This value is also used when a topology change has been detected and is underway, to age all dynamic entries in the Filtering Database. [Note that this value is the one that this Bridge is currently using, in contrast to ieee8021SpanningTreeBridgeForwardDelay, which is the value that this Bridge and all others would start using if/when this Bridge were to become the root.]

What is ieee8021SpanningTreeForwardDelay?

The current time, in hundredths of a second, this bridge uses for the Listening and Learning states before a port reaches Forwarding, and for aging dynamic MAC entries after a topology change — the actual value in effect, versus the bridge-wide default used only if this switch becomes root.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.3.1.1.1.12
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-SPANNING-TREE-MIB::ieee8021SpanningTreeForwardDelay

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.3.1.1.1.12.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-SPANNING-TREE-MIB::ieee8021SpanningTreeForwardDelay.1
