What is dot1xAuthTxPeriod?

This deprecated object specifies the time interval (in seconds) at which the IEEE 802.1X authenticator (typically a network switch port) transmits EAP-Request frames during the authentication exchange. Shorter intervals speed up authentication but consume more bandwidth; longer intervals are gentler on the network but may delay device access. Network administrators adjust this timing when tuning port-based network access control (802.1X) for optimal authentication performance and responsiveness.
